Dr Michael Mosley is a science presenter, writer and executive producer. He is the writer and the presenter of BBC2’s The Story of Science, and is also the face of science and medicine on The One Show. Michael’s programmes on exercise (The Truth About Exercise) and diet (Eat, Fast & Live Longer – which led to the hugely popular 5:2 diet) have produced much popular and media discussion as he examined the benefits of short, high-intensity exercise and fasting for two days a week.

Dr Mosley originally trained as a doctor at the Royal Free in London, and then decided to change course become a science journalist. He worked behind the scenes on programmes such as Newsnight at the BBC before becoming a presenter.

His Great Lives talk at the University of Lincoln coincides with Dr Michael Mosley being an honoured guest of the university and officially opening the Sarah Swift Building which is home to the School of Health and Social Care and School of Psychology. Dr Michael visits the University of Lincoln for the first time and will talk about his career in an informative conversational way where the audience will hear a very personal and inspiring account of a career in science and the media.

Previous career highlights for Dr Mosley including receiving a host of BAFTA and Emmy nominations, and been named Medical Journalist of the Year by the British Medical Association.

This Great Lives Lecture takes place on Monday 11th December at 1.30pm for a 2pm start in the Isaac Newton Building lecture theatre.
