Participants needed for a study on reading facial emotions

Researchers from the School of Psychology and the School of Life Sciences are recruiting participants to take part in a study focusing on human-dog relationships and how emotion expression is perceived between the two species.

What are we investigating? Emotion perception mechanisms through a non-invasive eye-tracking procedure

Where is it taking place? University of Lincoln – Minster House Building on Green Lane

Duration of session: 40 minutes (max)

Criteria for participation: Aged 18 or older. No known vision problems (glasses and contact lenses are not a problem). Does not need to be a dog owner.

What will it involve?

Participants will be asked to watch short videos of people and dogs faces, while a camera records their eye movements. After each video, the participant will have to identify the emotion displayed. Finally, the participant will fill out a 5 minute questionnaire about themselves.

Participants do not need to prepare anything for this study.

All participants that complete the study will receive a £5 high street voucher for taking part.
