Sponsored Silence – Zoe Mead

21 MAR
 posted by Amy Zwaan

Zoe Mead is doing an 8 hour sponsored silence for Solving Kids Cancer on the 21st March 2019. Her 2 year old nephew, Ollie, has been diagnosed with high risk neuroblastoma and is currently undergoing various treatments. High-risk neuroblastoma is a particularly aggressive childhood cancer, with only around 50 children diagnosed in the UK each year. If Ollie does get into remission, statistically he will relapse almost half of the time. If that happens, his chances of survival drop to less than 1 in 10.

Zoe is raising funds in Ollie’s name for Solving Kids Cancer. This charity specialise in support for children and families affected by Neuroblastoma. Any funds raised will go to access non NHS funded treatment (if needed) or keep the disease from returning if his front line treatment doesn’t go as planned.

Oonagh Monaghan in the library is also doing to silence with Zoë, in support of Ollie.

If you would like to donate, the just giving page is here -https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Zoe-Mead3 and there are also collection boxes available in the School of Psychology office (SSB1203).
