Staff Survey – Final week to have your say!
It’s the final week of the Staff Pulse Survey 2019 and your last chance to enter our weekly prize draw for £100 in Linc-On vouchers! These can be spent on e-vouchers and reloadable cards for a range of retailers.
Congratulations to Hayley Beardmore, the winner of the week 3 draw!
The University is currently at 64% participation rate and together we have contributed £1467 to charity so far, if we reach our 75% target the figure will be doubled and more funds will donated towards great local causes.
The four charities who will benefit from the donation fund are:
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is one of the UK’s leading Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) Charities. They are not part of the NHS and not funded by the Government. They rely on public donations to raise the £4m a year needed to fund their 24-hour operations.
At a time when every second counts, the arrival of our iconic yellow helicopter really can mean the difference between life and death. In the air ambulance they have the equivalent of an A&E department so that they can provide the best possible treatment as quickly as possible.
St Barnabas Hospice
St Barnabas Hospice is the leading charity in Lincolnshire providing palliative and end-of-life care to adults living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Their aim is to enable people to live as fully as they are able for however many days, weeks, or months they have left.
The services and expertise offered have developed to support a wide range of needs from controlling pain and other distressing symptoms to accessing welfare benefits advice. These are some of the areas covered: Hospice at Home, Care in the Hospice, Palliative Care, Day Therapy and Dementia Support.
Help for Heroes
Help for Heroes supports Regular and Reserve Personnel and Veterans who have suffered injuries or illness during, or as a result of, Service which impacts on their daily life. The Charity also helps their close family and dependents.
Many of those who are living with serious and complex injuries are likely to need ongoing support especially as they get older, to ensure they can continue living healthy and fulfilled lives with their families. For some veterans, the effects of their service only come to the surface in the months and years after they have left the military. Every course and activity offered aims to empower them to look beyond illness and injury, regain their purpose, reach their potential and have a positive impact on society.
Nomad
Nomad, part of YMCA Lincolnshire, provides emergency access accommodation in the form of a night shelter for the homeless. Their service users are diverse and can have multiple or complex needs. Their aim is to help them move forward with their lives by working with them to gain access to appropriate health care and other support services, and crucially, suitable accommodation. By treating everyone with dignity and respect, and offering a non-judgmental service we can help them take positive steps to a more secure future.
